Logo Bullet Point About our Patrons

Since 2008, Patrons have helped the RTWSO to achieve its ambitions by financially supporting the arts organisation.  Their support brings together people with a passion for live classical music and an affection for the Kent-based orchestra.

Patrons provide a vital source of income that contributes towards the operating costs of the RTWSO so that it can continue to book talented soloists and conductors, to engage the services of some professional players, to perform large-scale orchestral works, and to keep seat prices at affordable levels, particularly for young people.

An annual donation of £250 or more entitles someone to become a Patron.

Logo Bullet Point Why does the RTWSO need Patrons?

The orchestra needs extra financial help from its supporters because the income from ticket sales alone does not cover the cost of putting on first-class concerts.  In fact, box office income contributes less than 60% of actual expenditure.

Without the very generous support of Patrons, the RTWSO would not be playing this season.  But we need more Patrons to help us present regular orchestral events and continue to entertain audiences.

If your gift can be given under Gift Aid Scheme then the RTWSO will obtain additional benefits. For Gift Aid purposes, the donor must specify before, or at the time of donation, that part of his/her payment is for benefits (i.e. the commercial value of the relevant season tickets or tickets in the Circle) which have been detailed to him/her and the remainder is a freewill donation for which he/she would like to apply for Gift Aid under the Gift Aid provisions.
